Technology Innovation Award

The Office of Information Technology at SCSU has created a small grant program for projects that focus on the use of technology in teaching, learning, and research. The purpose of these grants is to encourage faculty to incorporate technology in their practices, courses, and research.  Funded proposals will answer questions about the use of technology and discover how pedagogy influences the use of technology. Questions might include:

  • What kinds of learning does technology promote?
  • How is technology helping students learn better?
  • What learning activities will improve because of the use of technology?
  • What learning abilities, attitudes, and skills are best enhanced by the use of technology?
  • What methods and/or instruments are useful for answering questions about best practices in using technology?
  • What learning activities do not appear to be enhanced by technology?

Award recipients are expected to collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Technologies Group of OIT in implementing the projects. The total timeline of the projects should not exceed one academic year.  Funding is expected to support computing equipment, software, supplies, training, and technical support services.
