The second meeting of the 2003-2004 year was called to order at 12:15 PM.

 

The minutes of September 10, 2003 were approved.

President’s Report: 

The president’s report was distributed.  President Paulson highlighted the following:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Standing Committee Reports:

 

1.                  Elections:

·        Senator Corbett reported that the ballots for the special P&T election have been sent to faculty.

 

2.                  Finance:

·        Senator Jirsa, reporting for Senator Brucker, reported that $8,000 remains in the part-time travel fund and $109,000 in the full-time travel fund.

 

3.                  Personnel Policy:

·        Senator Bielefield indicated that there was no report.

 

4.                  Rules:

·        Senator Rinehardt reported that the committee is reviewing the UCF constitution “article by article.”

 

5.                  Student Policy:

·        Senator Bulmer reported that the committee has been focusing on prerequisite checking and working with Lynn Kohrn.

·        Senator Bulmer also reported on the BAER meeting and President Paulson thanked Senators Bulmer, Rogers, and Lawler for their work on this committee

 

6.                  Technology:

·        Senator Brin noted the recent email from Mr. Brignola regarding the Macromedia update for the student computer labs and extended a thanks to Mr. Brignola for his efforts in notifying faculty and staff of pending software upgrades.

 

7.                  Academic Policy:

·        Senator Bloch, speaking for the committee, indicated that the committee is working on the ethics resolution.
