The fifteenth meeting of the 2002-2003 year was called to order at 12:10 PM.

President’s Report (Printed Version Distributed):
· President Paulson distributed copies of his President’s Report. Among the highlights:
o There will not be a senate retreat this summer; rather the first senate meeting of the semester, scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th, will be devoted primarily to organizational matters and the introduction of new Senators. In addition, there will be an orientation session for new Senators conducted by the President and members of the Executive Committee in the Fall.
o Senator Puerschner, former President of the Faculty
Senate, is retiring at the end of this academic year. President Paulson and the entire Faculty Senate applauded Senator
Puerschner for his work and dedication over the years.
UCF Update: Jim Tate

The UCF has passed the
Writing Program by a vote of 2:1. The
program is available on the UCF Website.
Committee Reports
· Rules Committee:
o There was no report.
· Student Policy Committee:
o There was no report
· Technology Committee:
o The committee is looking into wireless technology and anyone with questions on comments should send these to Senator Brin, Chair of the Technology Committee.
· Academic Policy Committee:
o There was no report.
· Elections Committee:
o Senaoter Corbett distributed the All University Election results.
· Finance Committee:
o There will be a resolutions on the faculty travel fund.

Personnel Policy Committee:
o The results of the Satisfaction Survey will be
distributed electronically.
New Business

The Senate approved
the Finance Committee Resolution regarding faculty travel funds for the next
academic year (Approved
Resolution Attached)
·
Senator Dunklee
requested a sense of the senate vote on responding to the resolution passed by
the Student Affairs Committee that he discussed under announcements.
