Amongst shattered glass I lie,
memories spread around me,
tears falling forcefully.
Like the shards that encircle me
the water stings my arms,
making me cry unmercifully.
I stare at my own reflection,
illuminated by the moonlight.
I am confused by what I see:
an unfamiliar face glares back.
It is a face that months before
may have been more easily remembered.
But in this world of glass,
everything has been shattered. |
