Comedian Preacher Moss: Understanding Diversity & The End of Racism Comedy Tour

March 13th, 2009

“Understanding diversity and multiculturalism requires that we eliminate or reduce the anxiety of our ignorance and how to speak honestly when we can’t.” -Preacher Moss

Preacher Moss is clearly the new prototype for the comedian of these times and the times to come. A writer for “The Damon Wayans Show” and “Saturday Night Live,” his comedy stylings are distinguished for being sculptured out of the everyday relevance of life and the rare glimpses of truth we value as reality. He is intellectual, yet humble. He is charismatic and dynamic, but does not have to demand great attention or time because his audiences come to cooperatively listen, laugh and in “special” moments, reflect. Truly this is a rare combination. He is more than a comedian, priding himself on being just a man. Viewed, respected and revered as a man of the people, his words carry life and just as importantly, they carry laughter.

Southern Connecticut State University is lucky to have Preacher Moss with us THIS Monday, March 16! He will be giving two great shows at 1 pm, during community hour, and at 7:30 pm. They will both be in the Adanti Student Center Ballroom. Come to this amazing Understanding Diversity and The End of Racism Comedy Tour!

“Delivering some of the most important things you’ll ever hear about diversity, he gives you the uncut truth and boy is it funny the way he does it. He’s absolutely unforgettable!!”
-Damon Wayans, Actor/Writer

Hypnotist & Autism Awareness

March 5th, 2009

Two verrrrry exciting events are coming to Southern next week!!! We have an amazing comedy hypnosis show on Tuesday and an interesting lecture about autism awareness!

Steve Wronker is a unique entertainer with a slant on the most hilarious, the most outrageous and the funniest form of comedy available in today’s entertainment market. The SWFB comedy hypnosis show promises to be extremely different than any other hypnosis show available. A true entertainer, Steve puts lots of volunteers into his show and orchestrates a night of absolute hilarity! Come Tuesday, March 10 at 7:30pm in the ASC Ballroom!

One in 150 children is impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders. A child is diagnosed every twenty minutes. That child could be your neighbor, classmate, or a family member. Whether autism touches you directly or is something you’d like to know more about, we want you to come Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30pm in the ASC Ballroom!
