Equity of Access – Adaptive Technology:
Examples of the Technology – Movie 2
by Frances S. Grodzinsky of Sacred Heart University

“There are also ergonomic devices such as lab tables which will allow you to raise and lower the height of the work table so that a wheelchair can fit under that table. And now we’re looking at things such as head trackers which will move the mouse with the nodding of your head and also… the coordination of eye to screen so that eye movements can trigger the movement of the mouse. So there are lots of accommodation devices out there and the question is – will the university provide these devices either in a lab and more importantly, will they provide them for students who need them in situations where students wish to participate – such as classroom situations.”

Art direction, digital photography, and editing by Margaret E. Tehan.
