Minutes for November 3,2009

I. Attendance: Sharise Tucker, Benjamin McNamee, Brianna Weller, John Eno

II. Meeting called to order: 1:36 pm

III. Old Business: Sharise said that she made a binder with all of the constitutions that have come before the board this semester. The binder has two section with one having SGA`s original and new constitutions and the process in it. The other half will be split into the stage that each club or organization is in. Sharise said that she wants to pass it along to the new board chair. Sharise said that before the meeting she sent an email to intervarsity fellowship so she had not heard back from them yet. She talked to the person in charge of Elohim and told them that the campus already has a bible study group . Sharise emailed STAT and Doreen told her she was setting up an interest meeting which will be held on November 11 between 1-2pm in the Alumni Relations office. Sharise has suggested to her that she should hold her meeting in the student center. Brianna just recently talked to Corey from SCSU TV who said that they would get her their constitution very soon. Brianna also talked to the college health corp. who haven’t responded back to her. She will email the person again.  Brianna also talked to Sean from paranormal society she found out that he is busy and hasn’t been able to finish up the process. Ben has read the constitution to Lotus they don`t have the interested person quota of ten people. It is including one graduate student. They have two executive board positions and more need to be added.  The group can only have undergraduates as active members.

Minutes for November 10,2009

I. Attendance: Sharise Tucker, Benjamin McNamee, Brianna Weller, John Eno

II. Meeting called to order: 1:37 pm

III. Old Business: Ben said that he has emailed the Lotus club with all the revisions to their constitution. He is still waiting on a reply. Sharise said she emailed Doreen from STAT . Sharise got an email back from Doreen saying that her interest meeting this week was canceled. Sharise also said that she is waiting for a reply from elohim and intervarsity Christian fellowship.APT met with Sal and they told him that they wouldn’t do what we had thought that they were going to do. They said that they would only bring in speakers and hand out flyers . Sharise is going to email Phil and say to go ahead and have interest meetings. And that if he needs help doing stuff with the flyers putting them up that we would help him out with that. Brianna still has not heard back from SCSU TV about when we are getting their constitution. She has not heard back from the college health Corp.

IV. New Proposals:

-We received a proposal for a film society of SCSU. Ben has undertaken this groups proposal. There were no other new proposals

V. New Business

November 23 we will be meeting from 2-3 instead of the usual 1:30 time on Tuesday  due to conflicts with schedules of the board. The last meeting of the board of constitutional review will be on Tuesday December 8,2009

Minutes From 10/6/09

Meeting Called to order at 6:00pm

Members in Attendance: Leslie Betters, Nicole Cassidy, Stefan Keller

1. I.            Resource Room
   1. The designer changed that date of the resource room meeting to Tuesday at 12:30pm and this could mean that the resource will not be able to be completed until next semester

1. II. Brainstorming
   1. a. We decided to brainstorm about what we do at cluster meetings
      1. i. The first thing we wanted to do was have introductions and allow the clubs to meet and greet each other so they feel comfortable
      2. ii. We wanted to have a discussion about the importance of collaborating between clubs and organizations
      3. iii. We want to talk about some of things SGA does that relate to clubs and organizations
      4. iv. After that we want to have a question and answer period so that clubs can voice their concerns

Minutes for September 22, 2009

I. Attendance: Sharise Tucker, Benjamin McNamee, Brianna Weller, Chris Piscitelli and Salvatore Rizza

II. Meeting called to order: 1:32 pm

III. New Business:

-Each of us looking at other CSU SGA’s constitutions to see if there is anything they do that we would like to add to ours.

-We discussed the process on how we go about ratifying the constitution.

-We will be starting to work on the changes of the constitution on October 6^th at 2 pm so if anyone has any interest in being a part of it please be present at that meeting. If you choose not to show up and use your voice, once the constitution is done, its done.

-We discussed holding an open forum for SGA members (and anyone) to attend to look over constitution once it is done and if they would like to discuss something about it with us, to show up on the designated day (which has not been set up yet).

1. Jen and Rick made new attendance sheets for the meetings and for office hours.
2. Katie went through the e-mails and checked off who did their office hours for the week and who did not.
3. We all organized the binders in the office and put everybody’s e-mails in their sections.

Minutes for October 27, 2009

I. Attendance: Sharise Tucker, Benjamin McNamee, Brianna Weller, John Eno

II. Meeting called to order: 1:37 pm

III. Old Business: Ben said Doreen is waiting for the provisionary status paperwork, so Sharise will be e-mailing them to her. Ben is still waiting for Alison Kelly from Pi Sigma Alpha to e-mail him back. Sharise met with Phil from Association of Progressive Thinkers and will be setting up another meeting with Sal, because there are some things that need to be discussed that we are not sure coincide with Southern’s policies and regulations.  She will also be e-mailing Intervarsity and Christian Fellowship about some changes they need to make to their constitution as well as e-mailing Elohim explaining that we already have groups that provide bible studies, so another one would be redundant. And Brianna is STILL waiting for SCSU TV to bring her their revised proposal so she can finalize it. She also e-mailed Sean from SCSU’s Paranormal Society to see if he is still intending to start his club.

Board of Elections & Internal Management

October 7, 2009

Meeting called to order at 1:10 p.m. by Katie Pomes

Roll Call: Jen Haddad and Katie Pomes

1. Jen and myself (Katie) printed out office hours emails from the end of last week and the beginning of this week.
2. We organized the emails and put them in the appropriate binders, as well as did the attendance.
3. I informed Jen that I talked to Denise about stipends and that we are going to put together a questionnaire for the board chairs that they will have to fill out and hand in before we meet to give out stipends. We started to brainstorm ideas and will have a questionnaire finished and sent to Denise by the end of next week.
