First-Year Parents

Parent of a first-year student at Southern? Rest assured that your child will receive the benefits of orientation to the campus and university life at New Student Orientation as well a year of support afforded by the First-Year Experience (FYE) program.

FYE at Southern is your student's home base for programs, resources, and student support services designed to help him or her get off to a great start at the university.

Helping your student make the transition to college, connecting him or her with fellow students and academic advisers through innovative learning communities, and supporting his or her efforts to succeed with everything from study skills workshops to leadership opportunities -- they're all part of FYE at Southern.
