Parking Changes on Campus

Due to the start of construction for a new 1,200-space parking garage on the site of Lot 7, at the side of Moore Fieldhouse, a new parking lot for students and visitors will be available as of Monday, October 17.

The new lot 12A, behind Seabury Hall and at the rear of the existing Lot 12, is close to the academic center of campus. There will be temporary lighting and emergency blue phones at the new lot.

Access to Lot 12A will be gained via the Crescent Street entrance and then driving through Lot 12.  Lot 12 is restricted to faculty/staff parking only until 4:30 p.m. each day, at which time the lot is opened to graduate students.

Graduate students will now also be able to park in Lot 2 (in front of Jennings Hall) all day rather than only after 4:30 p.m., which is currently the case.

In another related development, Lot 9, (off Farnham Avenue) including the dog-leg portion of the lot, is now designated for commuter parking. Overnight residence hall guests will continue to park in the dog leg area of Lot 9.

University Police will be monitoring traffic flow and minor adjustments may be made to ensure that this new parking plan operates efficiently.
