Overview
Desktop Publishing is a general term for software
that allows you to create a variety of printed materials.
These printed materials range from posters or flyers to brochures
and even complete books. Desktop Publishing software works
quite a bit like a word processing software, but allows greater
control over the arranging of items on a printed page and also a
larger variety in the types of printed materials that can be created.
Desktop publishing software is used in for just about every type
of printed publication that you can think of ...newspapers, magazines,
brochures, and so on.
Software to Use
- Microsoft Publisher (recommended)
- Adobe PageMaker
- Other software is available
Skills Required
- Image capture and editing
- Text style manipulation (bold, italic, various
fonts, etc.)
- Page layout skills to make an appealing brochure
