Web Page Development
Back to Modules Index

Overview

This is perhaps the most challenging of the modules available.  This is largely due to the fact that you will need to learn this skill on your own.  With the nature of this as an online course, teaching web development is difficult if not impossible unless the learner is very self-reliant and fairly proficient with technology.  This module has been included in this course for those who would like to challenge themselves or those who have had previous training in web page development and would like to practice their skills.

Essentially, web pages are simply a file that contains HTML code, which a web browser then interprets and used that information to display text and graphics on your computer screen. Creating web pages is a skill that relies heavily on more basic skills, such as file management, digital imaging, etc.  There are many pieces of software that allow you to create and edit web pages, such as Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver, etc.  This type of software allows you to work in a fashion similar to a word processing program to create web pages without the need to know how to write HTML code.
