Interview with Julian Madison on Channel 61 - Jan. 16, 2012

Julian Madison, associate professor of history, was interviewed on Channel 61 (WTIC-HFD (FOX)) about the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. He discussed the importance of continuing to teach students about the significance of King's life. The interview was a 5-minute segment on the station's morning news program.  


Interview with Kim Cornell on Channel 61 - Jan. 12, 2012

Kim Cornell, who earned a BSN in nursing last August from Southern, appeared on Channel 61 to discuss the situation in Haiti and her effort to adopt a Haitian boy.

An article about Southern's new Ed.D. in nursing education program (in collaboration with Western Connecticut State University) appeared in the Jan. 8, 2012, edition of the Stamford Advocate and Greenwich Time; the Jan. 12, 2012, edition of the New Haven Register and the Jan. 13, 2012, edition of the Brooks Community Newspapers (a group of weekly newspapers in Fairfield County that are affiliated with the Connecticut Post and Stamford Advocate).
 
Similarly, an article about the M.A. in romance languages program appeared in the Jan. 8, 2012, edition of the Connecticut Post. 

 

"Southern Professor Links Presidential Success To Prior Experience" - Hartford Courant,  Jan. 2, 2012

The Courant ran a Page 1 story pertaining to a study conducted by Tess Marchant-Shapiro, assistant professor of political science, about predictors of presidential success. Her research found a strong link between job experiences before becoming president and the success of a presidency.  Art Paulson, chairman of the Political Science Department, also was quoted in the article.
