RESEARCH AND GRANTS:
Obtained internal funding to author handbook for distance education. Received internal funding for development of interactive video on transcultural post-partum care. Received Connecticut State University Grant (Spring 1995) to continue research on caring for low-income, minority clients in the community. Received internal funding to sponsor a development workshop on Managed Care: Implications for the Curriculum. Received internal funding to develop workshop to assist faculty colleagues with inform atics. Received external funding from the South Central Council (renewed three times) on aging, received and renewed to provide outreach services for disease prevention with clients in the community of New Haven, Connecticut. Received U.S. Department of H ealth and Human Services Grant entitled Professional Nurse Traineeship for the Graduate Program. Currently, involved in research investigation with a faculty colleague entitled, Learning Outcomes in Traditional versus Televised Instruction.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT:
Assumed the leadership role in accomplishing the major curriculum revision within the Department of Nursing. The improved curriculum has an enhanced emphasis on community-based care and the role of faculty as facilitator of learning. Orchestrated t he self study in preparation for the NLN site visit of Fall 1994, and edited the report that was developed for the reaccredidation of both programs within the department. Responsible for developing the first graduate nursing courses in distance education a s well as the first continuing education offering for the department.

Mini-grant proposal for Academic Collaboration at CSU, entitled Pathways for Nursing Distance Learning Project. This mini-grant allowed key people within the CSU system to come together to identify issues facing distance education. Served as a m ember of the grant writing panel.

Learning Outcomes of Traditional versus Televised Instruction Models in a Baccalaureate School of Nursing. The data has been analyzed and the research has developed into a manuscript that was submitted to one refereed journal. The authors are no w doing a repeat of the research and will resubmit for publication.
