Value, Meaning, and Purpose: The Importance of the Arts to Human Growth and Potential - A Very Old Story Which is Retold to Every Generation.
Recognizing Human Spirit in Academia: Theory and Practice in Gaining Self Awareness, Integrity, Stability, Recognizing Goals and Dreams, Motivation, Strengths, and Individual Preferences through Arts Education (Music, Dance, Theater, Visual Arts...)
For Sabbatical Leave (Spring 1997): The goal of this research is to: a) collect and edit acceptance speeches of 36 women and men who have received June King McFee and Mary Rouse Awards (prestigious awards annually given by the National Art Education's Women's Caucus Affiliate since 1975), b) correspond with and interview those recipients still living in order to insure vitality and depth in the portraits, c) gather photo documentation of professional, personal, and artistic achievements pertinent to these life stories, d) create a book of these "wonderful, courageous, touching, and humane stories," and to publish same.
Future Research Project: "Aging Women Artists: A Demographic, Ethnographic, and Autobiographical Statement Content Analysis Study." Linked to my 1995-96 research, "Women in the Arts, Invisibility, Invincibility, and Aging."
