Southern's CLEP Policy
- Credit for examinations will be recorded on the permanent records of students who are matriculated and in good standing at SCSU. This is done after receipt of the official score report from the Educational Testing Service, assuming that the minimum score is attained.
- Credit for General/Subject examinations will not be granted if the student has already satisfactorily completed courses equivalent in content to that covered by the CLEP examinations concerned.
- Transfer of CLEP credit from another institution is acceptable if the scores are consistent with the minimum scores and/or requirements at SCSU. An official CLEP transcript must be sent to SCSU Admissions.
- Inside the CLEP brochure is a chart that lists the minimum score acceptable for academic credit at SCSU. Click here for CLEP brochure.
