graduate program and concentration

student in classThe Master of Science in school health education is designed to provide students with the necessary academic background to teach health education in grades pre-kindergarten through 12 and to plan, implement, and assess health education programs in the schools. Students completing the program may then obtain either initial certification or a secondary endorsement in school health.

The program currently has four full-time faculty members, three of whom hold a doctorate. The fourth member has two master's degrees and a sixth-year diploma.

On October 1, 2001, our program submitted a folio for accreditation by the American Association of Health Educators (AAHE) and the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE). The program is now accredited by the American Association of Health Education. The School of Education underwent its first accreditation site visit in 2003.
