Field Education

November 25-29, 2009

  • Thanksgiving Recess - No Classes - No Field Work

November 30, 2009 - Class Resumes

December 19, 2009 - Field Work break begins

Week of January 4, 2010 - First Semester Field Work resumes.

January 15, 2010 - First Semester Field Work Ends.

January 19, 2010

  • Second Semester classes and field work begin for all BSW and MSW students.

February 12-15, 2010

  • Presidents' Holiday: no field, no classes

March 22-29, 2010 - Spring Break, no field work, no classes.

March 29, 2010  - Classes and Field Work resume.


April - TBA

  • NASW Lobby Day at the Capitol Students will be excused from class to participate in Hartford.
  • Aavo Rakfeldt Memorial Lecture

May 7, 2010 - Field Work Ends.

Two copies of the written second semester evaluations are to be mailed to The Director of Field Education, by April 30, 2010.

This calendar serves as a guide only. Scheduling field placement hours per week should be determined according to the needs of the agency and the university's scheduled class times.

The required number of hours must be fulfilled as follows:

  • SWK 572-573 Advanced Standing 800 hrs per academic yr.
  • SWK 572-573 600 hours per academic year
  • SWK 570-571 500 hours per academic year
  • SWK 490-491 400 hours per academic year
