Liberal Studies program
Southern's program in Liberal Studies gives students a chance to tailor their coursework
to meet their academic, personal, and career goals. Rather than pursue a traditional
30-36 credit major, students can combine a number of established minors -- or even
design their own interdisciplinary minors -- to create a unique and innovative educational
experience. Besides flexibility, this program also offers depth of study. Whether
working toward a B.A. or a B.S. degree, all students in the program are required to
complete 36 credits of advanced coursework.
The B.A. program provides a broad liberal arts education, while the B.S. program is
for students whose academic or professional goals are best reached through three related
minors.
