The Men's Initiative
At Southern Connecticut State University

The Men's Initiative at SCSU believes that all men have a powerful and considerable influence in reducing sexual assault and violence, if they were allowed, encouraged and provided the resources necessary to speak and act out and engage and influence other men.  By speaking up as bystanders, questioning traditional notions of masculinity and addressing the pervasive violence in our communities, men have an immense impact upon gender violence.

Where Do You Stand? Bystander Intervention Campaign

The Women’s Center and Men’s Initiative are joining with Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services and Men Can Stop Rape in the fight to end sexual violence by participating in the state-wide initiative, Where Do You Stand?  Throughout the semester there will be a variety of programs/events offered that support this campaign through providing information on bystander intervention and will also have the opportunity to sign the Where Do You Stand? Pledge!

You can also click here if you are interested in signing the Where Do You Stand? Pledge and email it to Julian Wilson, Men’s Initiative, at Wilsonj22@owls.southernct.edu.   We will be sure to include your pledge along with the many other SCSU community members supporting us in this campaign!

We encourage you to look through out website and see the programs and resources we provide to the SCSU community.  Feel free to contact the Graduate Intern for the Men's Initiative, Julian Wilson at:
