Assistant Vice President/Dean of Student Affairs
The Dean of Student Affairs oversees key areas of student services including the Multicultural Center, Counseling Center, Health Services, Wellness Center, Academic Support Services, Disability Resource Center, Women's Center, Drug and Alcohol Resource Center, LGBT Sexuality and Gender Equality Center (SAGE) , Career Services, Veterans Center, Tutorial Center, Campus Ministry, and others. He also provides oversight of the campus judicial system. Dr. Troiano is currently serving as Interim Vice President for Student and University Affairs.

The Associate Dean of Student Affairs assists with projects and initiatives designed to enhance student success. He serves as a sounding board for student ideas, needs and issues and refers students to appropriate university offices. He is available to help solve student dilemmas.

Karen Morcaldi is the office supervisor of the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.
Karen manages the general daily operations of the dean's office and handles various
paperwork, phone calls and correspondence of the dean's office. She has been employed
at Southern since 1984.
