Navigating a new institution can be fun and exciting but may also present challenges. Southern has a number of resources available for transfer students. The Office of New Student and Sophomore Programs is available to assist transfer students with identifying ways to find connections to campus, support with academic resources and general guidance in pursing college success.

Transfer Student Assistants are experienced, knowledgeable, and want to help you have a smooth transition into becoming an Southern owl. They hold office hours on the 3rd floor of Buley library.

Meet the 2017-2018 Transfer Student Assistants.
Brianna Cully began as a Transfer Student Assistant in August 2017. She transferred from High Point University and Tunxis Community College to SCSU in Spring 2016. Currently, Brianna is studying Psychology with a Concentration in Mental Health. Briana is the secretary of Active Minds, the mental health advocacy club on campus, and a part of Tau Sigma Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society. She will be graduating fall of 2018 and will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Office hours: Monday 12:00-2:00 PM ,Wednesday 2:00-4:00 PM.
Meet our Transfer Assistant Chadrän! She transferred to SCSU in 2017. She is involved on campus as an Orientation Ambassador and the recording secretary of NAACP. She is excited to take on this new role in assisting fellow transfer students and is available during her office hours for all transfer students. Meet our Transfer Assistant Kelsey Jacobs! In 2016 she transferred to SCSU from Manchester Community College. She is studying for her B.S in Sociology along with a concentration in Criminology, planning to graduate in spring 2018. She is very excited to take on this new role and utilize her various leadership and personal experiences in assisting transfer student through their undergraduate career.
