Directions
From New York: I 95, Exit 44 (Kimberly Avenue, Route 10). Turn right at the end of the exit onto Kimberly Avenue, then left at the stoplight onto Ella Grasso Boulevard., Route 10. Ella Grasso Boulevard ends at Crescent Street, near the south entrance to the campus.
From New York: Merritt-Wilbur Cross Parkway, Exit 59 Whalley Avenue. Head south on Whalley Avenue, turn left onto Fitch Street, which bisects the campus.
From New London: I 95, Exit 45 (Ella Grasso Boulevard, Route 10). Follow Ella Grasso Boulevard north. Ella Grasso Boulevard. ends at Crescent Street, near the south entrance to the campus.
From Hartford: Wilbur Cross Parkway, Exit 60 at Dixwell Avenue. Head south on Dixwell Avenue to Arch Street. Turn right at Arch Street and a left at Fitch Street, which bisects the campus. Continue straight under SCSU bridge, come to the light and take a left onto Crescent Street.
Transportation
Getting to Greater New Haven is easy and inexpensive by air, land and sea. With two major highways passing the city, access is direct from both New York and Boston. An elegantly restored railroad services both Amtrak, Metro-North and Shoreline East passengers. Tweed-New Haven Airport is a 10-minute car ride from downtown, and New York and Hartford airports have limousine service to and from New Haven. From Long Island, you can catch the ferry to Bridgeport, just a 20-minute drive to New Haven. Once you're in the city, many points of interest can be reached on foot, but New Haven is also served by taxis, a bus system and a free downtown trolley. There is ample parking throughout the city and Yale University offers free access to its parking lots on weekends.
Parking and Handicap Accessibility
The Student Center has two large parking lots behind the facility (Lot 5 & 12). When classes are not in session, parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Otherwise, parking will be assigned by Campus Police. There are three handicap parking spaces conveniently located in front of Barnes & Noble Bookstore and the facility has automatic entrance doors and an elevator that provides access to the facility.
