Computer scientists must think abstractly, work independently, and yet be team players who can communicate well with clients and colleagues.

Southern's department of computer science has been educating top-notch computer science professionals for decades. Because of its pioneering history and its reputation for excellence, the department was recently granted "Distinctiveness Status" by the Connecticut State University System, which means it's one of the elite programs in the state.
