campus police
Campus Police provides police services to the university population of over 13,000 faculty, staff, and students. SCSU police personnel has increased to a present level of 27 police officers, which includes the chief of police, deputy chief of police, one lieutenant, four sergeants, one detective, and 19 patrol officers. There are also five dispatchers, one building and grounds officers, and 66 University Assistants. The university police also are responsible for the shuttle service.

counseling services
University Counseling Services offers a wide variety of resources to help students adjust to life on campus through invidivual and group counseling, outreach and programming and consultative services. Our primary purpose is to provide psychological support as students pursue academic and personal goals and to enhance the quality of their experience at Southern Connecticut State University.

disability resource center
The mission of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) is to ensure educational equity for students with disabilities. We provide assistance and information on issues of access to ensure the full participation of students with disabilities at Southern.

Drug & alcohol resource center
The Drug and Alcohol Resource Center (DARC) provides SCSU students, staff, and faculty with current information and resources on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. The resource center also provides confidential screening and assessments to students in addition to harm-reduction skill-based programs such as BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students). DARC also offers SCSU students online self-assessments called the E-TOKE and the E-CHUG.

Health Services
At Southern's Granoff Student Health Services, you will find nurses, advanced practice nurses, and physicians to help you stay in tune with your physical and emotional self. The staff of the Health Center can treat an illness, refer you to specialists, answer your questions, and help you handle medical problems.

interfaith office
The mission of the Interfaith Office is to nourish opportunities on the Southern Connecticut State University campus for the spiritual and religious growth and faith formation and exploration for students, faculty, and staff.

Multicultural center
Southern's Multicultural Center serves as a resource for the university and the community in promoting an awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity. It offers educational programs and services to assist in the recruitment and retention of students. The Center also sponsors outreach programs with area schools, conducts art exhibitions, film programs, lectures, and conferences and houses a book and video library.

sage center
The SAGE Center seeks to provide a safe communal space, personal support, resource information, relevant programming, and positive acknowledgment of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, asexual and ally (LGBTIQQAA) community. The SAGE Center wants to create a campus atmosphere of tolerance and understanding that is open and accepting of all human differences and free from the oppressive forces of homophobia, heterosexism, gender bias, and all other forms of discrimination that hurt and hinder humanity.

veterans services
Southern is committed to meeting the needs of all its students. That's why it maintains an Office for Veterans/Adult Students. Staffed by a counselor assisted by work-study students who are also veterans, the office provides counseling and academic advisement as well as assistance in dealing with the Veterans Administration.
