foods that may boost your immune system

  1. Garlic-increases your resistance to infection and stress.
  2. Cheese & dairy products-contain conjugated linoleic acid, a natural component of dairy fat, which is known to boost your immune system.
  3. Yogart & other cultured milk products-contain probiotics, beneficial bacteria with immune-boosting benefits.
  4. Vitamin C-found in citrus fruits and juices, may also help the body's immune system.
  5. Zinc-found in meat, chicken, peanuts, and peanut butter, plays an important role in the proper functioning of the immune system.

*Healthy eating during the cold & flu season means getting daily requirements of essential vitamins and minerals by eating a well balanced diet that contains a variety from all the food groups. Eating foods rich in vitamin A, C and E such as milk, eggs, citrus fruits, vegetables and nuts will strengthen your immune system. A good multi-vitamin can also help. In addition, be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. It flushes your system and keeps you hydrated during the dry months.
