UNIT 12 WRITING ASSIGNMENTS

DAILY THEMES - [The Writer's Voice]

Day 1: Write two paragraphs of explanation or narration in your own voice, one aimed at someone who has a claim to authority over you (a parent, teacher, coach, supervisor), the other addressed to someone who looks up to you.

Day 2: Write a theme in a voice you consider to be your own and edit the theme to make it the best you can.

Day 3: Write a page of explanation, narration, or description in which you imitate the voice of a writer you admire.

Day 4: Rewrite a theme from the past few weeks to make the voice more like that of a writer you admire or whose style would be appropriate for this theme. Your revision should be significant, not just the change of a few words.

Day 5: Write a theme on a subject of your own choice.
