Thanks to your help from last year , our book budget for most of the departments was very well spent. However, there are things I'd like you to be aware of:

Deadline for Requests Has Been Changed

Please submit your book requests before the end of 2002. Requests submitted after that will have to be held and processed for the next fiscal year. Please forward all the requests to your library liaisons:

Online Indexes

If you or your students had tried our web-based indexing and abstracting databases, you sure would have got some favorable opinions about them. And the good news is:

Education Index has been added onto our alphabetical list for the library online databases.

An index of leading publications in the field of education.
Covers every age and sector of the educational community from preschool through college.
Provides citations for every article of at least one column in length taken from English-language periodicals and yearbooks published in the United States and elsewhere.
Includes selected series and supplements and book review citations.
Offers the full text of many articles.

Check Out Our Online Catalog - CONSULS

For those who are not familiar with CONSULS, I'd be glad to conduct a workshop and show you the searching strategies. You can easily find out if we, Buley, already have a particular book; if we own video tapes on a certain subject; how to obtain a book from a sister library or other libraries. Just email me your name and contact information so I will arrange a time for it.

New Book

Uncle Sam's Net of Knowledge for Schools / by Melody Specht Kelly (Ref. LB1044.87 .K47 1998)

This is a print directory of over 1,000 quality education-related web sites and is organized into the following sections: curriculum corner, connecting with colleagues, teaching ideas, places for parents, mostly for kids, museums and exhibits, online reference, grants and funding, etc. A copy is available in the reference area while another copy for circulation is currently on order.
