Online Databases
Education Index has been replaced by Education Abstracts. It provides bibliographic information for articles from 528 periodicals and yearbooks, with indexing going back to 1983 and abstracts to 1994. Articles from books relating to education, which were published after 1995, are also included. Topics include a wide range of contemporary education issues including, adult education, continuing education, library science, literacy standards, multicultural/ethnic education, teaching methods, etc. Examples of titles offered in Education Abstracts include: American Educational Research Journal, British Journal of Educational Studies, Career Development Quarterly, Early Education and Development, Education Digest, Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Mathematics Teacher, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, Middle School Journal, Reading Teacher, Remedial and Special Education, etc.
ERIC (Ebsco) allows access to full-text ERIC Documents published from 1996 to present and some documents published between 1993 - 1995. As you may already know, we have the archived ERIC documents on microfiche in the library.

Reference Work - A Web-based Bibliography Manager
RefWorks is a Web-based bibliography and database manager that allows users to create their own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases. They can use these references in writing their papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography in seconds.
RefWorks allows you to…
* Organize and create a personal database online – no more index cards to write out and organize.
* Format bibliographies and manuscripts in seconds. Easily make changes to your paper and reformat in seconds.
* Import references from a variety of databases using the already created Import Filters.
Journal Locator is now available from the library homepage. It provides direct links to the available full-text periodical articles online with the click of a button.
Watch out for our up-coming workshop schedules for both RefWorks and Journal Locator from the Buley Library Newsletter.

To request a class, please go to http://www.library.southernct.edu/bitrainingformlines.html. Two weeks of notice is greatly appreciated.
Please also feel free to have your students contact me directly at 392-5738 for individual library tutorials.
