SH cameo Sequel to The House-Boat, about a gathering of famous dead people's shades. In this, the House-Boat has been stolen by Capt. Kidd with all of the women on board. Holmes appears at the beginning and later to pilot the rescue boat. Parody. Mostly RPs with some dubious inclusions from Shakespeare (Portia, Shylock) and the Bible (Noah, Mrs. Noah, Delilah, etc.) Dedicated to ACD with thanks for killing off Holmes (so he could appear with the shades). |

Marianne Weber asks SH for help with her deranged husband, Max. Each theorist talks to Holmes in lines from their works, thus introducing their theories. Not nearly as fun as the Philosophers Song.

Not badly written but a total Mary Sue. Elizabeth Sigerson has burnished copper hair, startling green eyes, every skill known to man or woman, is highly intelligent and logical, and every man is in love with her. Especially Holmes who takes her with him on the Great Hiatus. Watson ellided her from Final Bow and Adventure of the Empty House, etc. for her own protection. Sherlock Holmes Society's Best Pastiche Award winner. Thanks Robert Stephens and Jeremy Brett for their portrayals of SH. As should we all. |

Mrs. Hudson is the true detective brain, founder of the Irregulars, etc. Holmes is not a complete idiot, just not as good. Watson is nearly Nigelian, but also too fond of drink and is oddly referred to as conducting experiments (and those artworks are porn?). Stories are narrated by Hudson's Watson, Flotsam aka Flottie, an orphan rescued from the streets and trained as a maid and more by Hudson. Main villain Fogarty is Moriarty. This book uses the Giant Rat of Sumatra. Meta: cameo by Raffles with joke about him being related to Holmes by marriage (but called in by Hudson, who knows everyone). |
