Topic: Growing Into Independence as Teens
Facet: High School Students and Cooperative Employment
Jenifer Castellano
For the topic of teens growing into independence, I would like to investigate the relationship of high school students and experiential or cooperative learning. It interests me to find out if the "rolelessness" plagued by teenagers can be combatted through relevant experiences in a work-place setting. By reviewing articles pertaining to the benefits and drawbacks of high school student employment, I hope to come to some conclusions regarding student employment, its effects on self-esteem issues, "rolelessness", and student understanding of the relationship between education and reality.
