ATTENDANCE POLICY: It is the English Department's policy not to allow more than 3 absences in a sophomore literature elective class that meets four times a week. Any student who is absent for more than 5 classes for whatever reason including illness will not receive credit for the course.
GRADING POLICY: If your choose to do the optional paper, your grade will be based as follows: (1) 2 exams--40% (2) 5-6 page paper--20% (3)final exam-20% (4)class participation (including arriving to class on time)--20% . If you choose not to do the optional paper, your two exams will count 50% of your final grade, and your final exam 30%.
PLAGIARISM: The penalties for plagiarism on papers and exams are severe. They range from a 0 on the assignment or task to failure in the course or even suspension from school. If you have any questions as to what constitutes plagiarism, please see me.
