ATTENDANCE POLICY: It is the English Department's policy not to allow more than 3 absences in a literature elective class that meets four times a week. Any student who is absent for more than 3 classes for whatever reason including illness will not receive credit for the course.
GRADING POLICY: If your choose to do the optional paper, your grade will be based as follows: (1) 2 exams--40% (2) 5-6 page paper--20% (3)final exam-20% (4)class participation (including arriving to class on time)--20% . If you choose not to do the optional paper, your two exams will count 50% of your final grade, and your final exam 30%.
PLAGIARISM: The penalties for plagiarism on papers and exams are severe. They range from a 0 on the assignment or task to failure in the course or even suspension from school. If you have any questions as to what constitutes plagiarism, please see me.
STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES POLICY: If you have a documented disability, please contact me during the first week of the semester to discuss appropriate accommodations to ensure equity in grading, classroom experiences, and outside assignments.
