A Listserve to Help
Today's Undergraduates
Many of our alumni graciously consented to give
their e-mail addresses and be on a listserv so that when our current
undergraduates have a career question, they can address this to our
alumni. (Thank you, alumni!) As soon as this listserv has been set
up, directions for using it will appear here. We hope it's useful to you!
Alumni Survey Results
A recent survey mailed to all of our alumni (for whom we have addresses) who
graduated since 1980, has given us some information which we hope will be
helpful to our current students. We asked our alumni the following
questions:
1. What is your job title?
2. Please describe what you learned as an undergraduate at Southern
that helped you in your career.
3. What did you not learn at Southern that would have helped you
in your career?
4. What career advice would you give to a freshman at S.C.S.U. who had
a love of foreign languages and a desire to major in a language?
5. Given your experience, do you think that a degree in Liberal
Studies, with two or three minors, would be useful in the job market?
We have grouped the answers to questions #2 through #5 in the category of
"Career Advice."
The answer to question #1 stands alone under
"Alumni Job Titles."
