The Italian Clubs

Italian is a major one can consider simply because one loves the language and culture, and wants a solid liberal arts education.  For information on how to turn a liberal arts education into a good job, see The Liberal Arts Advantage, in The Foreign Languages Department's Career Library.

Some of our non-traditional students have chosen an Italian major because they were already established in a job, such as nursing, and were completing a bachelor's degree for the purpose of career advancement.  They chose Italian because they were interested in Italian language and culture.

Italian majors who are not already established in jobs/careers will find most of their opportunities in teaching Italian plus Spanish, or in combining Italian with other minors.
