Overview of the program:

The program in Dijon provides a full language and culture program at seven levels [plus a teachers' institute in July only] over three summer sessions, corresponding roughly to the months of June, July, and August.  This program because it allows for a very full regional immersion. In addition to their regular coursework, all students can take separate courses devoted to the following: cooking [with gourmet chefs!], film, folksong, regional art, the history of Burgundy, regional wines, national politics, women's rights, along with separate extensive courses in pedagogy and translation.

The program in 1999 runs from July 3 to July 31.  For S.C.S.U. credits, the following courses are offered:   French 106, 206, 306, and 506; all are variations of "French Culture in France" and all will be individualized projects tailored to the cultural events in Burgundy this summer in consideration of the ability-level of each student. Students also receive three transfer-credits from the Universite de Bourgogne.
