Dear Students,
Please write a final “Dear Will” letter. Use our course name (English 200), the date and please remember to use your signature at the end of the letter. Your letter can be as formal or informal as you wish, but please try to offer specific thinking. Your letter will be opened and read after grades are submitted, so please be straightforward. I will try to learn from both positive and negative comments because when writing is true, it is most effective. Thanks in advance for your feedback, and thanks for a great term!
Fondly, Will
I PLEASE COMMENT SPECIFICALLY ON THESE CLASS ELEMENTS:
What did you think about the class text and class meetings? What did you think about the writing assignments, in class writing, discussions, class activities, lectures/presentations, readings, peer responses, texts, handouts, home page, The Writing Studio, chats, blogs, student web pages, and conferences with your instructor?
II PLEASE COMMENT ON WILL’S TEACHING
Were the course materials and professor’s activity adequate for your learning needs? Did you see value in class instruction? Did you get good feedback from the professor? Did you have conferences and correspondence with the professor? What discourse with your professor was helpful? What would you suggest he change? What would you most want him to continue doing?
III PLEASE COMMENT ON YOUR WORK AS A STUDENT WRITER IN THE CLASS
How has your writing changed? What have you discovered? What was fun? What was difficult? What will you continue doing? What will you be glad to never do again? Did you work hard? What would have made you work harder? Why were you interested (or not) in the learning challenges you answered for this class? What did you find most frustrating or difficult to do in this class? How did you relate to having laptops in the class?
IV PLEASE COMMENT ON THE COURSE
What elements of the course best addressed your learning needs? Did you enjoy the challenge to write creatively? Did you think the academic challenges encouraged learning effectively? What did you think of having to respond to other’s writing? What did you think about learning and using multi-genre and multimedia? Which aspect of the course did you like best and why? Which aspect of the course did you like least and why? Did you get friendly with other students in ways that may continue after class? Are there things you learned in the class that will be valuable to you in addition to the above prompts? What aspects of the course would you like to see dropped or changed for students in future English 200 classes?
V PLEASE COMMENT ON ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO MENTION
