Come join us and experience the wonders of math! Refreshments are served at each meeting. Past Meetings Upcoming Events: ¨ D20: The SCSU Mathematics Club will be constructing a regular icosahedron: a polyhedron consisting of 20 equilateral triangle faces, 30 edges and 12 vertices. The goal of D20 is to create a new Guinness Book of World Records category by building the largest icosahedron ever made. The project is planned to take place Saturday, April 12, 2008. Further details will be posted here. ¨ April is Math Awareness Month! What WE DO: ¨ Exchange information related to undergraduate interest in Mathematics ¨ Sponsor talks and workshops by students, professors and non-SCSU faculty/professionals on various topics within Mathematics ¨ View videos pertaining to Mathematics and its applications ¨ Attend various Mathematics conferences ¨ Visit science museums ¨ Sponsor social activities each semester, such as picnics, field trips, etc. ¨ Work hands-on with Mathematics via projects, discussion, etc. We are always open to new ideas and suggestions! The Math Club: ¨ Brings together students interested in Mathematics to promote an active mathematical dialogue on the Southern campus   ¨ Helps broaden your awareness of Mathematics and its applications in today's world   ¨ Informs you about careers in Mathematics and related areas   ¨ Enables students to meet with faculty informally (socials, picnics)   ¨ Can create lasting friendships!   Join today! No membership fee! WHEN WE MEET: The Math Club meets alternate Mondays in Engleman Hall A109 from 1:00-1:50pm. Meetings for Spring 2008 began Monday, February 4, 2008.
