Triumph and Disappointment

    Nine Roxbury runners I know of so far started the Boston Marathon this year, and eight finished.  (Please inform me of any I missed, and I'll change this.)  Official results from the BostonMarathon.org web site are below, in no particular order.  They go:

  1. Ed Sandifer 3:06:52 (3:05:20) (His 29th consecutive Boston finish.)
  2. Kyle Gancher 3:48:20 (3:42:20) (She can run!  even without the stroller!)
  3. Jay Wilson 3:16:29 (3:15:16) (went through 15k right beside Ed Sandifer)
  4. Corinne Bellemare 5:09:32 (4:58:38) (Fixed it, Corinne!)
  5. Al Mletzko 5:05:56 (4:55:01) (9:05 to cross the starting line!)
  6. Peg Molina 3:34:40 (3:29:21)  (Broke 3:30!  Way to go, Peg!)
  7. Andy Morehouse 3:01:00 (3:00:07) (Aaargh!  Just 7 seconds, Andy!)
  8. Chris Brigham 3:03:22 (3:02:56) (Compare Chris' splits with Andy's.  They had a good race, but Chris faded a bit at the end)
