2001 Roxbury Race #6

3.55 miles - up Hemlock
March 31, 2001

Fossil steals another one.  Molina romps.

It all depends on who shows up.  The Old Fossil, Ed Sandifer's time of 22:20 would have earned him 5th place last week on this Hemlock Road course, going the opposite direction.  With some of the local stars running the 5k at Shepaug HS at 10am, the Old Fossil was left with only a few of his regular rivals.  Chas Greystone was a little off his feed, but Mark Chantry ran bravely, leading the race for two miles, before the Fossil shoved him aside to charge up the hill for a 24 second win.

Among the women, Peg Molina grabbed her third crown of the season (where does she wear them all?) as she bumped off points leader Kimberly Thompson by 46 seconds.  On April 16, Peg will be running the Boston Marathon to raise money for the Mark Gillen Fund.  Check out Peg Molina's page (designed by Kimberly Thompson) and see if you want to help out.

Web Guy apologizes to his fan that this week's results are so late.  Through a strange combination of missed phone calls and missing keys, the results were locked away in an office in New Milford all weekend.  Things like this probably won't happen very often.

The Roxbury Races are now listed on the Internet both on CoolRunning.com and on HiTekRacing.com.
