WELCOME!

Greetings to all international students and their families!

staff

The Office of International Education (OIE) is here to answer your questions and help you address any problems you may encounter before and during your stay at Southern Connecticut State University.  The OIE also serves as your resource on immigration matters, and is Southern’s liaison to the U.S. federal agencies that handle matters related to international students and scholars studying and working in the U.S. Our dedicated staff can assist you with problems associated with your immigration status, social and personal adjustment to life in the United States, and other personal matters and concerns. Through the OIE, you will have an opportunity to make valuable social connections and become acquainted with the myriad of resources at Southern and in New Haven that will make your stay a positive and productive one! To introduce you to the services and programs of the OIE and to make sure you entered the U.S. in proper status, we ask that you bring your passport and immigration documents to check in with us when you arrive in New Haven.

Our most sincere wishes for a successful stay at Southern! Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can be of assistance to you.

Erin Heidkamp, Ph.D., Director, Office of International Education
