SPRING 2018 STUDENT TEACHING APPLICATION
STEP ONE: Attend a Required Candidate Information Meeting
Students applying for student teaching MUST attend a Student Teaching Candidate Meeting prior to submitting an application. The
90 minute meeting will cover the application requirements, placement process AND preparation
of candidate materials. Candidates are expected to arrive on time and should plan
to stay for the entire session to be eligible for submission of an application. Regretfully we are unable to schedule individual or additional sessions.

STEP TWO: Submit the Candidate Packet (DUE: September 15)
The candidate packet will be provided at the REQUIRED Candidate Information Meeting ONLY. Information regarding submission of the packet, student teaching application process, and development of materials will be reviewed during the meeting.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications for student teaching by September 16, 2017 to be eligible for Spring 2018 student teaching:
- Attend a REQUIRED Candidate Information Meeting
- Be accepted and matriculated in an SCSU teaching certification program
- Have a minimum SCSU GPA of 2.7 (must maintain good academic standing to remain eligible)
- Have obtained permission from the enrolled academic program for student teaching
- Have a valid background check
- Complete the Behavioral Training Module
- Provide proof of passing Praxis II or ACTFL if required (World Language, Social Studies, Math, Science, School Health candidate ONLY)
- Submit the candidate packet & schedule an individual candidate meeting
The candidate packet MUST be submitted in person to Davis 110 during regular office hours. Please allow a few minutes for a staff member to review your packet. Once complete, you will be scheduled for an individual candidate meeting.
REGRETFULLY, WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT CANDIDATE PACKETS AFTER SEPTEMBER 15STEP THREE: Individual Candidate Meeting (September 13 - 22)
Candidates successfully submitting a packet will schedule an individual meeting where they will receive their Candidate Application Number (CAN) which is required to submit the final Student Teaching Application to Tk20/Taskstream.
STEP FOUR:Submit the Final Application Online (DUE: October 8)
Candidates requesting placement for the Fall 2018 semester must submit their final application, resume, cover letter, and reflection essay to Tk20/Taskstream to be eligible for placement.
Student teaching applications for Fall 2018 will be available November 2017.
