Exercise Science

The Exercise Science Department at Southern Connecticut State University offers bachelors and masters degrees with fully accredited and nationally recognized program options for students wishing to focus on Athletic Training, Human Performance, Physical Education, and/or School Health Education. Coursework and research is led by an energetic, caring and accomplished group of faculty members. The Exercise Science Department prepares students to become professionals who can assume leadership roles in a variety of Exercise Science related professions. Our graduates have gone on to work with and assist individuals from young children to elderly adults to improve their personal health status and to develop a wellness based lifestyle.

Bob Gregory, assistant professor of exercise science, and Bob Axtell, professor of exercise science, were recently interviewed by WTNH Channel 8 health reporter, Jocelyn Maminta, about the new high-tech treadmill obtained by the Human Performance Lab that is able to generate 3-D gait analyses of runners.
