An official score report from the College Board that shows a score of 3 or higher will receive university credit as shown in the table below. These credits may count towards the overall 120 credit minimum required for a degree in one of three ways.
- Major course credit.
- Liberal Education Program (LEP) requirements (i.e. general education requirements). Note that credits can only count in these LEP categories if the student’s major does not require a different, specific course for that category.
- Elective credit. Course numbers such as 0100 and 0200 are generally elective credits.
Credit will not be awarded for any AP exam that duplicates the content of a college course for which a student has already received credit, nor will credit be awarded when the student has completed more advanced study in the subject beyond the level covered by an exam.
