Transfer Credit Evaluation Inquiry
Many students have questions about electives, here is an explanation of what "Transfer Elective" means.
Transfers from any of the Connecticut Community Colleges, Albertus Magnus College, Briarwood College, Central CSU, Eastern CSU, Western CSU, Fairfield University, Post University, Sacred Heart University, Quinnipiac University, University of Connecticut, Mitchell College or University of New Haven if you have a Transfer Elective from a specific department (ex. PSY 0100 PSY Transfer Elective), that means SCSU does NOT have a course equivalent. The Departments have already evaluated the courses and they are non-negotiable for a specific course equivalent at SCSU.
Transfers from all other colleges and universities, if you have a Transfer Elective (PSY 0100 PSY Transfer Elective), that means SCSU does NOT have a corresponding equivalent course. If you have taken a junior or senior level class, and that class transferred in as a Department Elective, you may go to that Department to inquire about possibly receiving a direct course equivalent. You will need to have a copy of the course syllabus and catalog for the transferred course and review the department's offering at SCSU to see if there is a course equivalent.
