Upcoming EVENTS for SCSU alumni
Events at a glance - Spring 2015
SCSU Alumni Networks are being established in Connecticut (CT wine tasting tour) and throughout the United States in areas where we have large concentrations of alumni. These networks are being designed to help alumni make connections, both socially and professionally and stay connected with Southern. We will need your help in administering them. Each network will have a chairperson and a core group of volunteers to plan events as well as set and accomplish goals of the group. If you would like to help, please contact Michelle Johnston via email or phone at 203-392-6500. See below for a list of network events currently being planned. We hope to see you at one in your area!

SCSU Global Big Event - Day of Service
Saturday April 25 - all day Where: around the globe
Each year, Southern students join together to complete service projects or volunteer their time in the local community.
On April 25th, 2015, hundreds of Southern students, clubs and organizations will volunteer for local organizations, agencies, and other locations in need of assistance.
This year we would like alumni all around the United States (and abroad!) to join in by establishing the SCSU Global Big Event. If you live locally and would like to join one of the student crews in a service project, the students would love for you to join them. If you do not live locally, we ask that you choose a location for your day of volunteering in your area. Our goal is to have hundreds SCSU alumni around the world volunteer on April 25th. If you send us photos or videos, we will compile them and post them on our website.
We will be sending SCSU Global Big Event t-shirts to all participants prior to the event and ask that you wear it on the day of the Big Event. Please fill out the registration form by April 15th (international alumni, by April 1st), so that you will receive your t-shirt in time.
We thank you for your generosity of spirit and the caring you show every day!
Boston Area Alumni Network Kick-OffWednesday, May 6, 2015 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The Green Dragon (Boston's oldest tavern) 11 Marshall Street Boston, MA
Boston area alumni will meet at Boston's oldest tavern to kick of the Boston Area Alumni Network. We plan to have an American history professor from Southern on hand to give us some insight to this very special location, the site where the Revolutionary War was planned!
Established in 1714, this is a spot where Paul Revere held meetings with the other
big-name Sons of Liberty: Samuel Adams, John Adams, John Hancock, Daniel Webster,
et al. The Boston Tea Party was planned here and it's a commonly held belief that
the plans for the invasion of Lexington and Concord were overheard in this pub, spurring
Paul Revere's famous ride.
