The Ronald D. Herron Day of Service
The Ronald D. Herron Day of Service, now in its 7th year, is a day designated annually for Southern students, faculty, and staff to gather in the local community and work side by side on service projects benefitting New Haven neighborhoods and the greater New Haven community. Participating in a Day of Service fosters friendship, promotes service, and leaves a positive imprint on our community.
Students may register as a group or as an individual from now until 10pm on Wednesday, September 18th. Most of our sites can accommodate between 20-30 students and we will do our best to accommodate all groups so they can travel and work together throughout the day. However, with large groups, they may be separated in order to meet the needs of a community. Placements will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis. As many classes, included Inquiry classes, include the Day of Service in their course work, we will do our best to keep all students and their instructors together at sites.
Students that register as individuals will be placed at sites with groups.
