Welcome to the Student Health and Wellness Center
No one has to tell you the importance of good health. Keeping fit plays a big part in feeling healthy, but healthiness also requires common sense, wise eating habits, and an awareness of what's happening to mind and body.
You will find our facilities to be very similar to those of your family physician. The professional staff is here to assist you with your ambulatory medical needs and help you make positive health care decisions. We ask you to make an appointment for all visits. Most times an appointment can be obtained on the same day that you call. Urgent walk-ins will be accommodated in order of priority. We have qualified medical practitioners in the areas of family practice, gynecology, and HIV/STI counseling and testing.
At Southern's Student Health and Wellness Center, you will find a physician, advanced practice nurses, and nurses to help you stay in tune with your physical and emotional self. The staff of the Student Health and Wellness Center can treat illnesses, refer you to specialists, answer your questions, and help you handle medical problems.
The Student Health and Wellness Center is on Wintergreen Avenue near university residence halls and across the street from Moore Fieldhouse.
A Physician, Nurse Practitioners (APRN) and Nurses (RN) are available year round.

*** Measles UPDATE ***
In light of the recent report of an increase in measles cases in the United States, we would like to refer you to the CDC website to obtain the most accurate information http://www.cdc.gov/measles/
Since two doses of measles (MMR) vaccine for those born after 1957 is a CT State requirement of enrollment, the majority of students have been adequately immunized. If you are unsure of your immunization status, or have not received immunizations for either religious or medical reasons, please contact Health Services at (203) 392-6300 for any questions.
Students are always encouraged to schedule an appointment at Health Services for any illness or medical concerns.
