Timely Warnings and Advisories


The Southern Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, (January 25) on Wintergreen Avenue, New Haven. Three Southern Connecticut State University students were in the crosswalk at the intersection of Farnham Avenue when a vehicle turned improperly onto Wintergreen Avenue. The driver of the vehicle exited and opened his coat and displayed what appeared to be a handgun. No one was injured during this incident.
The vehicle is described as possibly being a 2006 black 4-door Saab hatchback with Connecticut plates and was last observed turning right onto Fitch Street and left the area. The driver is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20s and approximately 5’10” tall.
