DR. ADIEL COCA
SYNTHETIC ORGANIC CHEMISTRY / GENERAL CHEMISTRY
I am an associate professor in the Chemistry Department at Southern Connecticut State University. My interests include the synthesis of biologically active small natural products and the development of novel organic reactions. My teaching responsibilities include Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Principles of General, Organic and Biochemistry.

Visiting Assistant Professor, Franklin and Marshall College, 2007-2008
Synthesis of small biologically active natural and unnatural molecules. Specific interests include compounds that belong to the tannin and alkaloid families, as well as other secondary metabolites. Development of new and useful chemical transformations is another of my interest of mine. These include the use of microwave-enhanced chemistry to develop organic reactions in aqueous media.
