The Enterprise Applications Programmer is responsible for the administration, business analysis, configuration, daily operations, troubleshooting, and problem resolution within the university's ERP system. Supports functional users by providing guidance on optimizing system use, streamlining processes, and integrating external applications.

Position Responsibilities

Application Development and Innovation: Lead the design and implementation of innovative applications and services aimed at enhancing the student and employee experience.

Business Analysis: Analyze user needs to gather requirements and translate them into system configurations and functional enhancements.

User Support: Respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure prompt resolution of system-related problems.

System Guidance: Advise functional users on best practices for utilizing the Banner ERP system to maximize efficiency and streamline workflows.

Integration & Interface Design: Design and manage integrations with external applications while improving existing GUI interfaces using SQL, RESTful APIs, and low-code/no-code platforms.

Technical Leadership: Demonstrate coding expertise, uphold software quality standards, mentor colleagues, and establish innovative technical strategies and architectural approaches.

Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, balancing daily operational demands with strategic, long-term initiatives.

Innovative Problem-Solving: Implement creative, forward-thinking solutions to address functional needs and technical challenges for all stakeholders.

Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Four (4) years of professional IT experience. In lieu of a degree, eight (8) years of relevant professional IT experience is acceptable. Proven experience in ERP application support in roles such as administrator, analyst, consultant, developer, or similar positions. Hands-on experience with moderately complex information systems, including responsibilities such as root cause analysis, requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, and deployment. Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities. Capacity to quickly learn new programming techniques, work processes, and programming languages. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React), and RESTful API design. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with SQL. Experience with procedural database programming such as PL/SQL. Experience with version control tools such as GIT or similar systems. Familiarity with shell scripting within Linux environments. Experience in responsive web development. Technical experience with Ellucian Banner SIS system. Multilingual or bilingual skills.
